France has been named the Destination Focus for Fame Week Africa 2026, which will take place in Cape Town from 28 October to 1 November 2026. Bringing together professionals from the film, television, music, fashion and entertainment industries, the event serves as a major platform for exchange between African and international creative sectors.
Fame Week Africa includes four interconnected events: MIP Africa, Muziki Africa, the African Fashion Forum and the FAME Shorts Film Festival. Through conferences, showcases, networking sessions and market activities, the programme connects creators, producers, distributors, investors, broadcasters and decision-makers from across the continent and beyond.
As Destination Focus, France aims to strengthen long-term creative and professional partnerships between French, South African and wider African cultural and creative industries. France will also host a dedicated pavilion and professional delegation during the event.
âFrance is honoured to be the Destination Focus of Fame Week Africa 2026. This recognition reflects a shared commitment to strengthening ties between African and French creative industries. By supporting co-production, professional exchange, and access to international markets, Fame Week Africa offers a framework for building enduring partnerships and ensuring wider circulation of creative works between Africa and Europe,â said H.E. Mr David Martinon, Ambassador of France to South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi.
The announcement reflects ongoing cooperation between France and African creative sectors across audiovisual production, music, fashion and cultural entrepreneurship.
