The French Embassy in South Africa's main aim is to develop and strengthen partnerships between universities in France and South Africa. To do so, the France - South Africa Scholarship Programme is launched each year for South African, Malawian and Basotho students wishing to further their studies in France at master and doctorate levels.

Organised by the French Embassy and the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS), the event brought free live music into the public space, transforming Bree Street into an open-air platform for performance and exchange.
