France champions gender equality and women's empowerment, both at home and in the rest of the world. On the back of a resolutely feminist diplomacy, we work with local civil society organisations in South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi to advance gender equality and women's rights and promote public action locally and internationally. We are committed to stepping up our efforts to overturn the recent, worldwide attacks on women's and LGBTIQ+ people's rights and the urgency of achieving concrete and urgent systemic progress towards gender equality.
