Celebrating Bastille Day with African elegance

Arts and Creative Industries

To celebrate French National Day, commonly known as Bastille Day, on the 14th of July, IFAS presented a fashion show at the French Residence in Pretoria, featuring Création Africa 2024 alumni, Glorinah Khutso Mabaso of Renaissance Design, and Sandi Mazibuko of the House of Fabrosanz showcasing two collections: the My Altitude collection & the Tshwane collection.

Mazibuko and Mabaso value the power of collaboration and its ability to elevate and strengthen the economic stability of businesses operating within the cultural and creative industries. The show was a unique collaborative project between these two visionary South African designers. Their brands merged history and South African cultures with modern fashion to preserve heritage through the coded symbolism of the pattern designs, a perfect way to celebrate African excellent at the prestigious event.

The event was also rounded off with illustrious sounds courtesy of DJ AN.D (Andiswa Dhlamini).
