The Absa L’Atelier Art & Lifestyle Fair will take place on Saturday, 10 October 2026, bringing together contemporary art, live entertainment and activities for the whole family.
This year’s fair marks the 40th anniversary of Absa L’Atelier Art, which supports emerging visual artists from across the African continent. Work by the Top 12 Finalists in the 2026 competition will be exhibited, offering visitors an opportunity to encounter a new generation of artistic practice.
A central moment in the programme will be the live announcement of the four winning artists. Among them will be the recipient of the 2026 Absa L’Atelier Gerard Sekoto Award, supported by the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) and the South African National Association for the Visual Arts (SANAVA). The award provides a promising South African artist with a three-month residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, followed by a solo exhibition in South Africa.
The fair takes place from 10:00 to 17:00 at Waterfall City Park, Entrance 26, Mall of Africa, Midrand.
