The European Film Festival is back from 17 to 27 September 2026!

Arts and Creative Industries

The 13th European Film Festival South Africa (EUFF) is here! Over 10 days across 4 cities, audiences will have the opportunity to see some of the best films in current European cinema, fresh from Cannes, Venice, Berlin and beyond. Featuring award-winning films by giants of European cinema alongside bold new voices and starring Europe’s biggest names, this year’s films follow families of all kinds—biological, chosen, broken, rebuilding—fighting to hold together and carve out a future against everything working to pull them apart.

The French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) is proud to once again support the festival, helping to bring the programme to audiences in South Africa while extending selected screenings to Lesotho and Malawi. Whether you’re a film enthusiast or simply looking to discover something new, we encourage you to attend this year’s festival and experience some of the best contemporary European cinema.

Keep an eye on the EUFF website for the full programme, screening venues and booking information.
