South African professionals represent local series industry at Series Mania Forum in Lille

Arts and Creative Industries

From 24 to 26 March 2026, a delegation of South African television professionals attended the Series Mania Forum in Lille, Europe’s leading event dedicated to series and television production. Supported by the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS), the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) and Institut français in Paris, the initiative aimed to strengthen the visibility of South African talent within the global audiovisual sector.

The supported delegation included Bridget Pickering (BuMP Films), Sara Blecher (Real Eyes Films), Zandré Coetzer (Nagvlug Films), Katleho Ramaphakela (Burnt Onion Productions), Andrea Titus (Penguin Films) and Bianca Isaac (Figjam Entertainment). Over three days, participants engaged in pitching sessions, networking opportunities and industry conferences, connecting with international producers, broadcasters and decision-makers.

Their participation builds on South Africa’s first presence at the Forum in 2024 and contributes to ongoing efforts to expand international collaboration. In particular, it supports the implementation of the 2023 co-production agreement between France and South Africa, encouraging new partnerships and the development of projects across both countries.
