The French Embassy in South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi is inviting teachers of French to apply for winter training scholarships in France (in-person).

This offer is open to South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi and is primarily aimed at French as a Foreign Language teachers working in primary, secondary schools, and universities, as well as, to a lesser extent, students from French departments pursuing a career as French teachers. The educational programs are open to candidates who have at least a B2 level.

More than 15 bursaries are available!

The proposed training courses will take place either at Cavilam in Vichy or at the CLA in Besançon.

TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS:

– Your passport (a passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of your stay, i.e., until June 15, 2026). This point must be taken into account when planning your trip to avoid unpleasant surprises at the destination airport or even prevent you from returning home. Your passport must have at least two blank pages and, if applicable, a valid residence permit for South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi;
– The scholarship form sent by email, correctly completed, signed, and stamped by your home institution (school, university, etc.);
– Your resume in French;
– Your cover letter in French.

EXCLUDING ANY OTHER SERVICES, THE FRENCH EMBASSY WILL COVER THE FOLLOWING EXPENSES:

– Visa;
– Round-trip transportation (plane from South Africa, Lesotho, or Malawi to France, then by train to the training location);
– Accommodation in France in a studio or with a host family, depending on your preferences and/or availability;
– Meals and/or a lump-sum maintenance allowance;
– Travel insurance;
– Training.
