Galerie Eric Dupont, active since the 1990s, highlighted an international programme including artists such as Taysir Batniji and RomĂ©o Mivekannin. Double V Gallery, based in Marseille and Paris and represented on the night by Nicolas Veidig Favarel with artist Renske Linders, outlined its support for a new generation of painters. The Bridge Gallery’s director Vianney Salzac introduced an emerging programme focused on international artists with links to Africa, while Florian Azzopardi of Afikaris described the gallery’s commitment to artists from the continent and its diaspora.

In his address, Ambassador Martinon underlined France’s long-standing engagement with contemporary art and reiterated the intention to continuously deepen links with the South African art scene.
