Mzansi Esports Champions professional meetings: Promoting women’s entrepreneurship

Alongside the Pan-African Tekken women’s competition, Mzansi Esports Champions, rAge Expo will host a day dedicated to professional meetings and discussions around the flourishing gaming and esport sector in Africa on 29 November 2024. rAge is one of Africa’s premier gaming expos celebrating gaming, technology, gadgets, and geek lifestyle entertainment. rAge Expo takes place in Johannesburg from 29 November to 1 December 2024.

Particular emphasis will be placed on women’s entrepreneurship in the world of gaming and esports in Africa. With a dozen guests from various sectors of this flourishing ecosystem, this event promises to open up a comprehensive dialogue on the challenges, successes and future prospects for women entrepreneurs in the African esports landscape.

The day’s sessions will also be joined by French industry experts and practitioners who will participate in business meetings, serve as keynote speakers, and panellists. Emmanuelle Denavit-Feller, Regional Audiovisual Attachée at the Embassy of France to South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi and IFAS, will give opening remarks on France’s steadfast support of the industry and of the empowerment of African women gamers in the region.

She will be joined by French guests, Jennifer Lufau (Afrogameuse), who will give a keynote on Women in GamingMelissandre Monatus, who joins the Female Gaming in Africa, Let’s Talk and Jobs and Careers in Gaming and Esports panels, Luong Duyen, Zunnie (The Node), who will join Monatus on the latter panel, and Désiré Koussawo (SAGES Africa), giving a keynote on Gaming and Esports: A New Opportunity for Africa?. Other prominent international invitees include Nigeria’s Eniola Edun, CEO of Gamr.
