Take part in the 2024 La Fabrique Cinéma programme

Arts and Creative Industries

La Fabrique Cinéma supports emerging filmmakers on the international market.

La Fabrique Cinéma of the French Institute is launching an international call for entries for ten directors and producers who are developing their first or second feature film. The selected participants will be invited to the Cannes Film Festival to take part in an intensive programme of personalised coaching. This programme at the Festival is aimed to help finance the selected projects through individual meetings with French and international producers as well as group meetings with professionals, in partnership with the Cannes Film Festival and the parallel selections. Match-making meetings with French and international producers and sales agents will also be organised.

The call for entries is limited to 110 projects and is evaluated by a selection committee made up of scriptwriters, directors, editors, consultants, festival programmers and members of national and international cultural or cinematographic organisations. Apart from the selection made through the call for entries, the selection committee might choose projects through partnerships and/or among former applicants of La Fabrique. These projects will be clearly identified.

The programme will take place on-site during the Cannes Film Festival. Part of the activities of the programme will take place online from mid-April. The director and local producer of a selected project will be welcomed in Cannes for a period of 7 to 10 days during the Cannes Film Festival. Participants agree to make themselves available for the equivalent of 8 days in April and for the duration of the programme in Cannes.

La Fabrique Cinéma has been created by the Institut Français, in partnership with France Médias Monde and the International Organisation of La Francophonie and developed in close association with the Cannes Film Festival the Marché du Film.
