«Musicpreneur» brings together artists from various aesthetics and from four different countries (France, South Africa, Belgium and Sweden), who will work together in the post-covid context and will end up with 4 one-week workshops, co-creating a work.
A project at the service of artists
The «Musicpreneur» project is funded by Erasmus+ to the tune of €200,000 and will run for 30 months. Started on June 30, 2021, the program will end on December 30, 2023. It brings together 4 partners: the Toulouse association Samba Résille (associative school of Samba and Brazilian music), the Swedish Samba school A Bunda, the Brussels production house MetX – Moving Music, and the South African theatre «Artscape» led by Marlene Leroux.
«Musicpreneur» responds to the request of the cultural actors (artists and operators) participating to find the path of cultural entrepreneurship after the health crisis, by relearning to organize, adapt, empower, socialize, communicate, through the exchange, cooperation and sharing of knowledge and practices between different structures and countries.
The first stage of the cooperation project took place in Toulouse from 13 to 16 June 2022
From 13 to 16 June, the Samba Résille association hosted the artistic delegations participating in the program, for 3 days of workshops and exchanges around cultural entrepreneurship. On 14 June, the Drac Occitanie, which supports the Toulouse association, took part in the day’s discussions. The Director of Cabinet of the Regional Director of Cultural Affairs, also in charge of international issues, presented to foreign cultural actors the role and action of the French Ministry of Culture, in particular in support of the cultural sector hit by the health crisis in recent years. The system of intermittence, a French specificity in favour of performing artists and technicians, has also been presented to cultural actors from different countries and is the subject of debates on its issues and limits.
Note: On July 2, Samba Résille celebrates its 30th anniversary – on this occasion, the association organizes a neighbourhood party, from 6pm to midnight, with concerts, DJ set, neighborhood meals, street decorations, and other entertainment.
