After much postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Fête de la Musique (or World Music Day) took place in Johannesburg on 18 September at four venues for the first time, under strict Covid-19 protocols. The popular and free music festival, established in 2010, has become a great platform for a diverse range of renowned and upcoming talents to make themselves known in South Africa. The event drew an intimate number of young and old music lovers to Newtown Junction, Hector Pieterson Memorial, Victoria Yards and Alliance Française. Those who missed the physical event can stream some of the musician’s memorable performances here: http://www.fetedelamusiquejhb.co.za/streaming/
